We hit the ground running.

ABC Kitchen : farm table
ABC Kitchen

ABC Kitchen

As soon as we landed we hit the ground running, literally, to make sure we weren't late for our first chef interview of NYC. Still feeling groggy from our red eye we jumped at Jonathan Waxman's offer for some coffee and sipping it up it while he gave us the grand tour of his popular restaurant Barbuto. Just as we were getting comfortable we had to say our good byes and make way to our second interview of the day, then third, then fourth.

Phew! What a day we were having already and just hours after landing. We had interviewed Jonathan Waxman (Barbuto), Sara Jenkins (Porchetta & Porsena), Dan Kluger (ABC Kitchen), and Josh Capon (Burger&Barrel) all before the 5 o'clock hour.

But wait, I haven't mentioned the best part of it all yet.

Dan Kluger from ABC Kitchen, which was just announced restaurant of the year, invited us to stay after our interview so he could cook for us using some of his freshest produce he had displayed on the farm table in the dining room.

What a great way to start our NYC adventure for Chefs Feed!

And we're off.

Well actually as you all might know we were "off" a little over a month ago, but it wasn't until recently we decided to do this blog as an easier way to share this amazing adventure with you all. So looks like I'll have to backtrack a bit to June 1st when we hopped on our red-eye and made our way to NYC.

Little did we know just what exactly was in store for us.
